PROJECT SUMMARY: Road and Highway Projects: US Highway 49 - the reconstruction of the north bound lanes and the overlaying of the south bound lanes of four miles of four lane rural arterial in Forrest County, Mississippi, including the design of all pipe and box culverts, for the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Mr. Connolly had primary design responsibility on this project and also supervised the work of subordinate personnel and subcontractors. MS State Route 57 - the new construction of ten miles of four lane, rural hurricane relief route in Greene County, Mississippi, including the design of all pipe and box culverts, as well as two box bridges,
Eastabuchie Road - the new construction of a five mile long, two lane, rural collector, including the design of a 93' long bridge, designed for Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had design responsibility on this project and was also responsible for the construction management. Bonhomie Road - the new construction of a three mile long two lane county road, including the design of three box bridges, designed for Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly completely designed this project and was also responsible for the construction management. Sullivan Drive - the reconstruction of one and one half miles of two lane county road to a two and three lane city street, including new water and sewer lines running parallel to the roadway, designed for the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly completely designed this project and was also responsible for the construction management. W.L. Runnels Industrial Park Drive - the reconstruction of two miles of existing gravel county road to a two and three lane city street, to serve the Hattiesburg/Forrest County Industrial Park, designed for the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly completed the majority of the design on this project. Bridge Projects: Peps Point Road Bridge over Bowie River - a 750 foot long, 40 foot wide bridge that is in a circular curve and the transition of that curve. The main span is a 150 foot long built-up plate girder and the approach spans are prestressed concrete beams. The deck is all poured concrete and the substructure consists of six foot and eight foot diameter piers on 24 foot square pile caps with steel piling. This structure was designed for Forrest County Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for all of the design of the bridge including substructure, beams, and superstructure and is at the moment supervising the construction of the project. Hurricane Creek Road Bridge over Red Creek - a 300 foot long, 28 foot wide precast concrete bridge, designed for Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had complete design responsibility for the design of this structure using the Mississippi Department of Transportation standards designed for Forrest County, Mississippi. Old Highway 49 Bridge over Black Creek - a 250 foot long poured concrete deck bridge, with prestressed concrete beams, and prestressed concrete piling on poured concrete pile caps, designed for Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had complete design responsibility for the design of this structure using the AASHTO standards and construction management responsibility. Box Culvert Projects: App Slade Road - a fifty foot long double 5'x6' poured concrete box culvert, designed for Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had complete design responsibility for the design of this structure and used the HYDRAIN computer program to hydraulically model the culvert. Mr. Connolly also had complete design responsibility for the hydraulic design of this structure using the HYDRAIN computer program and the structural design using the Mississippi Department of Transportation design standards. Mr. Connolly also had complete construction management responsibility. Lincoln Road - a 500 foot long double 6'x16' poured concrete box culvert, designed for the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and the Mississippi Department of Transportation. This structure also included two 45 degree bends and the necessity to fit the structure under an existing road with very low cover. Mr. Connolly had responsibility for the structural design of the culvert using the Mississippi Department of Transportation standards and the hydraulic design using the HYDRAIN computer program. Dams: Canebrake New Lake - a ten acre lake in Lamar County, Mississippi. The dam is a 20 foot high earth dam with a corrugated metal pipe for a permanent spillway and a grassed spill through as an emergency spillway. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the structural design of this project using the DAMS2 program. 40th Place Lake - a twelve acre lake in Lamar County, Mississippi. The dam is a 20 foot high earth dam with a corrugated metal pipe for a permanent spillway and a grassed spill through as an emergency spillway. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the structural design of this project using the DAMS2 program. Water Distribution Systems:
Pearl River Community College Water System Hydraulic Analysis - the hydraulic analysis of a water system for approximately 1,000 students and requisite fire flows at the Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the hydraulic design using the Kentucky Pipe program. Additions to the Pearl River Community College Water System - the addition of water lines in order to upgrade the colleges domestic and fire flow for the Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi. This included the addition of 8" to 12" PVC water mains, fire hydrants, and valves. Mr. Connolly had design responsibility and construction maintenance responsibility. City of Lumberton Water System Hydraulic Analysis - the hydraulic analysis of a small city water system of approximately 1,200 users for the City of Lumberton, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the hydraulic design using the Kentucky Pipe program. Elevated Water Tanks: City of Collins 300,000 gal. Elevated Water Tank - the design of a 300,000 gallon spheroidal water tank for the City of Collins, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the hydraulic design of the structure, the writing of the specifications, and the review of the prime contractors plans. Pearl River Community College 75,000 gal. Elevated Water Tank - the design of a 300,000 gallon spheroidal water tank for Pearl River Community College in Poplarville, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the hydraulic design of the structure, the writing of the specifications, and the review of the prime contractors plans. Sewer Systems: Trailwood Subdivision Sewer System Design - the design of a sewer collection system for a 500 unit subdivision in Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had responsibility for phases three through five of the collection system. Sewer Treatment Plants: City of Hattiesburg South Lagoon Chlorination Basin - the addition of a 20 MGD capacity chlorination basin for the existing lagoon in the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. This project included getting approvals from the Department of Environmental Quality. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the preparation of plans for this project as well as the construction management. City of Hattiesburg North Lagoon Additions - the addition of a new cell to the existing north lagoon in the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for the preliminary design of this project. Site Designs: Fox Chase Development - a retirement community in Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had responsibility for the civil design including water, sewer, and street construction. 4th Street Apartment Development - a apartment development in the City of Hattiesburg in Forrest County, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had responsibility for the civil design including water, sewer, and street construction. Big K Orange Grove Site Plan - a convenience store development in Orange Grove, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly had responsibility for the civil design including water, sewer, and street construction. Hattiesburg/Laurel Regional Airport U.S. Aviation Hangar - a new hangar for U.S. Aviation at the Hattiesburg/Laurel Regional Airport. Mr. Connolly had responsibility for the civil design including water, sewer, and street construction. Sunbeam-Oster Processing Center - a 3,000,000 square foot commercial building in the Hattiesburg Industrial Park in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Mr. Connolly was responsible for all civil aspects of the construction outside of five feet from the face of the building.
